A calligram is text arranged in such a way that it forms a thematically related image. <\/em>
\nIt can be a poem, a phrase, or a single word.<\/em>\u00a0 Source: Wikipedia<\/a><\/p>\n

I am a contemporary calligram writer who uses this technique in my art. I live and work on La Gomera, one of the smallest islands in the Canary archipelago. My work is sold to clients worldwide.<\/p>\n

Counting words<\/h5>\n

When I make a calligram, I write hundreds of times words, a text or a name, to form and create an image. I write them tiny, but still readable. While writing, I count the written words during the writing and keep track of the written words.\u00a0 When the piece of art is finished, the total number of words is known. The total amount of words is written on the front, together with her initials.<\/p>\n

Unique Art – BazArt<\/h5>\n

The result is a unique piece of art where you have to look twice to see how the work is made. First from a distance for the total overview, then up close to see the details of the still readable words. A lion’s head, a 1.8-metre-high giraffe, a yoga or Buddha figure, insects or an impressive nautilus shell… My free work is very varied and divers.<\/p>\n

Personalized orders<\/h5>\n

In recent years, Mirjam has received many personalized orders, all by writing hundreds of times the name of the person. Ranging from a special memory as an original fingerprint<\/a> of a deceased loved one in the form of a fingerprint, hearts in two colours<\/a> or rings for a wedding or anniversary, sweet baby feet for little newborns or suitable images like as a whale or a sailing ship for a baptism<\/a>….. The possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n

By writing the name hundreds of times in the image, they are all personalized gifts for life!<\/p>\n
